Peter Prins commissioned as Knowledge Broker on Salinisation
Provinces and water authorities invest in a campaign to raise awareness and provide technical assistance for farmers. Dedicated knowledge brokers bridge the gap between researchers and farmers.
Land Water Food Consult is recently appointed to support the local governments in the North of the Netherlands of disseminate knowledge on salinisation of agricultural soils and water sources. This assignment fits very well in our international portfolio. In several other projects in Colombia, Vietnam and Egypt is an issue. Exchange of experiences will be very fruitful to tackle the impact of salinity and to identify feasible solutions.
In this project a team of Knowledge Brokers covering the whole coastal zone of the Netherlands (provinces Zeeland, Noord-Holland, Friesland and Groningen) will work together. This setting will encourage exchange of experiences on salt tolerant crops, water management and aquaculture.
